Not everyone would think of curtains to provide protection from heavy wind-blown rain to an indoor/outdoor dining area. But our client did, for his new villa in Phuket.
We chose Suntex 95 fabric, an outdoor PVC-coated polyester mesh (5% open). We use this same fabric for outdoor roller blinds, and it has many advantages for outdoor use, like longevity, transparency (outwards during the day), almost total rain & rain protection, washability, breathability and downright good looks.
The curtains hang from and open along polished marine grade stainless steel rods and fittings, join as required in the middle with velcro patches, and anchor to the floor at their centre onto foot-friendly retracting stainless steel fittings.
